Why Your Order Takes Time – And Why It’s Worth the Wait
Some of the more complex keycaps I make are built from over 35 individual parts. These aren’t mass-produced pieces — each one needs to be made, checked, and assembled with care.
Before I can begin hand-drawing the details, I first assemble all the parts to make sure everything fits together securely. Once I confirm the structure is sound, I carefully disassemble it to apply the hand-drawn finish — making sure every mark is clean and precise. Then, I reassemble the keycap to bring it all together as a single, seamless piece.
But it doesn’t stop there. Each keycap has to be tested for compatibility with all Cherry MX switch variants. Sometimes, after days of work, I discover that something isn’t quite right — a hidden flaw, a misfit, a detail that doesn’t live up to the standard. That keycap won’t make it to a customer. I start over.
This isn’t factory work — it’s patient, precise, and often repetitive. That’s why I take my time, especially when the process gets repetitive or tedious. I’d rather go slow and deliver something truly worthy than rush and compromise quality.
That’s why pre-orders ship in mid August. Not because I’m waiting around, but because I’m working, piece by piece, to make sure that what you receive is flawless.
